IPS ; Awadh State ; Brijis Qadr (AH 1273-1274, 1857-1858 AD), Silver Rupee, Suba Awadh Mint, AH 1229/26, vertical fish and pataka on rev.
Note : Brijis was a Nawab-Wazir who became independent during the first war of Independence the Mutiny of 1857 and issued silver and gold coins in the name of the Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II. The rebel Birjis Qadr struck coins in imitation of earlier Awadh issues. The original issues were struck with the mint name Muhammadabad Banares, while those of Qadr have Awadh at top and Subah at the bottom on reverse .
