Note : Archaeological ruins of the large settlement of those days can be still seen near the city. The famous Chinese pilgrim Huen Tsiang travelled to kasipur in the 7th century. This town is believed to have a good historic trade of clothes and metal vessels. Specimen been found with coins of Sambhal and Pali Humayunpur and hence it is a part of a currency bag from Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. As the coin was found it is certain that it was minted by the Rohillas, most probably by Hafiz Rahmat Khan. Only few specimen is known to the numismatic world till date .
