Description
Mughal ; Aurangzeb Alamgir ; Scarce Silver Rupee ; 1107 AH / RY 40
Mint : Islamabad – Mathura ( Full Mint below ) ;
Note : Mathura was visited by Aurangzeb in 1669-70 (about AH1080/Ry12-13) and had its name also changed into Islamabad. On historical and stylistic grounds it has been assumed that the coins with the mint name ‘Islamabad’ at the top were struck at Chakan.
